Hey parents who helped with the Winter Ball!  Darby Barton sent this on Jan. 9, and I thought I'd passed it on to you, but I think I hit "delete" instead of "send."  So here it is.

ps: I just still so proud of that danged coat and bag room! Thanks to the volunteer parents who spent the evening in there.  What a difference it made!

Subj: Winter Ball Thanks

 Dear Magnet Parents & Faculty,

The Zoo Crew would like to greatly thank all who helped with the Winter Ball!

A special thank you goes to all who donated food items and coat racks,
volunteered to set-up or clean-up, or chaperoned.

This year was full of new surprises including a successful coat & bag room and a catered pasta bar! Students were enthusiastic about the new coat room, and the parents operating it were excellent. The pasta bar was delicious, and graciously prepared to fit our budget by Chef Alan Riddle of the LA Zoo.

None of this could have been possible if it were not for all of your support, and for encouraging your students to attend the annual Winter Ball!

About 260 magnet students and guests gathered to dance the night away at the wonderfully decorated Grand Room at the LA Zoo! The atmosphere was magical, and we hope to have another fabulous dance next year.

With great thanks,
Darby Barton
Zoo Crew President
