The City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) is installing
new parking meters in your area to provide more convenient and reliable
service. No more digging for change: these new meters accept credit cards,
debit cards, and even gift cards-actually, any card with a MasterCard, Visa,
or American Express logo. The solar-powered parking meters also use wireless
communication to report their status and activity to staff, and send text
alerts to instantly report jams to parking meter technicians in the field.

The attached documents provide additional details about the installation of
Card & Coin Meters in your area, including a complete announcement, an area
map, and a guide to operating the Card & Coin Meters. Please help get the
word out by distributing this information to your residents, businesses, and
customers. 

LADOT has a limited number of printed cards showing how to operate the new
meters that can be provided to your organization by sending a request to
LADOT.CardandCoin at lacity.org. This e-mail address can also be used for any
